Words of comfort and hope

Isaiah 49:21-22

Then you will say in your heart:
“Who has given me these?
I had lost my children and was childless,
Exiled and wandering to and fro.
Who has brought these up?
Behold, I was left alone;
From where have these come?”

Isaiah 54:1-8

Sing, O barren one,
who has not given birth.
Break into song, and cry aloud,
You who have never been in labour;
For the children of the abandoned are more numerous
Than the children of the married wife, says God.
Enlarge the place of your tent,
And stretch out the curtains of your habitations;
Do not hesitate;
Lengthen your cords and secure your tent pegs.
For you will expand abroad to the right and to the left,
Until your descendants possess the nations
And populate the desolate cities.
…For a brief moment I forsook you,
But I will gather you with great compassion.
In an outburst of wrath,
For a moment
I hid My face from you;
But with everlasting kindness
I will have compassion on you,
Says God, your Redeemer.
